Born on March 11, 1926 in Bugulma of the Tatar ASSR. In November 1943 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. Combat path: fought on the Ιth Belorussian Front, was a machine gunner in a tank company, then served as a liaison. He was slightly wounded during an artillery shelling, which only hit the new Soviet heavy tanks that entered the front. Member of Operation Bagration, battles for the capture of Berlin. He graduated from the war with the rank of senior sergeant. In 1947 A.P. Varakin was accepted into the ranks of the CPSU and sent to study at the Ivanovo military-political school, which he graduated with honors. He served as a political worker in the army, in the troops located in the GDR. Later - in the Leningrad Military District. Demobilized in 1956. Awards: Order of the Patriotic War, I degree, Order of Peter the Great, III degree, Order of the Badge of Honor; medals "For the capture of Berlin", "For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", Zhukov medal, "Winner of the socialist competition in 1973", "Winner of the socialist competition in 1974", "Shockman of the Ninth Five-Year Plan", "Veteran of Labor", as well as anniversary medals, certificates of honor, letters of thanks and congratulations. He returned to Bugulma to his family. He started working as a diesel operator at NPU "Aznakaevskneft" in Bugulma, then became the head of operation of the autotractor office of NPU "Aznakaevskneft", where he was elected secretary of the party organization. In May 1965 he was elected chairman of the trade union committee of the NPU "Aktyubaneft" of the Tatar ASSR. In 1966 he went to the North, to the future Nefteyugansk. Here Alexey Varakin began his career as Deputy Head of Yuganskneft Oil and Gas Production Department for Personnel and Household, and then was appointed Acting Deputy General Director of Yuganskneftegaz Production Association for Personnel and Household. Soon he was transferred to Mamontovneft NGDU as deputy for personnel and life. Many old-timers remember Aleksey Petrovich as the head of the department of housing and communal services at PA Yuganskneftegaz, and later as the head of the water supply and sewerage department at PA Yuganskneftegaz. In 1986, Alexey Petrovich went on a well-deserved retirement. After retirement A.V. Varakin continued his career as head of the plumbing equipment workshop, later - deputy general director for production at PO Zhilkomhoz, deputy for general issues of the head of the department for current repair of the housing stock. Until recently, Aleksey Varakin was deputy chairman of the city council of war and labor veterans, and was actively involved in the military-patriotic education of the younger generation.
