A flower-laying ceremony took place in Khanty-Mansiysk today to the Eternal Flame of the Glory Memorial in memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. 76 years after the Great Patriotic War ended, but the imperishable greatness of the feat of the Soviet people - a feat that will forever remain in our memory as evidence of the greatest courage, fortitude and true heroism of the people-liberator, who gave the world the long-awaited Victory Day. We will always remember the price paid for this greatest day in our history. During the war, the District Military Commissariat called up 17890 residents of Ugra to the front, 8479 did not return from the war, more than 5 thousand were awarded orders and medals. On the main alley of the Victory Park, 14 Ugra citizens - Heroes of the Soviet Union - are immortalized in obelisks today. The event was attended by a delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by the head of the Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation in Yekaterinburg Vitaly Andreevich Voytik. Ugra and the Republic of Belarus are linked by long-standing partnerships. In addition, the youth patriotic project “Understand. Live. Remember ", dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. The project participants plan to visit the Republic of Belarus in 2022, conduct a media expedition to places of military glory, visit Brest, Khatyn, hold meetings with veterans, youth activists of Belarus.
