Corps, met with volunteers.
The Humanitarian Volunteer Corps is an autonomous non–profit organization, an association of caring citizens who want to provide humanitarian assistance to those who find themselves in a difficult life situation. A lot of work is underway to deliver aid to residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.
“Goodemployee” one of the projects of the Humanitarian Volunteer Corps is being implemented jointly with the Government of the Autonomous Okrug. During the project, state and municipal employees volunteer for the project for two weeks and help the civilian population. Food packages are being delivered, hot meals are being prepared and distributed, the wounded are being cared for in hospitals, and destroyed houses are being restored. Since the beginning of the year alone, about 500 municipal and civil servants have been in rotations, including heads of cities, deputies, representatives of various departments.
“We have been creating this project for a long time. The first thing I want to note is that all events are carried out at the expense of donations from state and municipal employees. Volunteers provide great assistance in hospitals. Nowadays, these are institutions of the Rostov, Belgorod and Voronezh regions,” Eduard Loginov, chairman of the Humanitarian Volunteer Corps, stated.
“Undoubtedly, humanitarian aid is a priority for us. Today you are carrying out the mission that the authorities and specialized funds should implement. You are bringing people together today. And, of course, we will continue to implement all these initiatives. I want to thank you for the fact that, despite your direct official duties, you find the time, opportunity and strength to be with those who are now on the front line, taking care of the families of servicemen of the special military operation,” Ruslan Kuharuk addressed the volunteers.
It should be noted that the central logistics point of the Humanitarian Volunteer Corps of Ugra in Surgut unites all the humanitarian aid collected in the region, which the volunteers of the Humanitarian Volunteer Corps sort, pack and ship to the zone of a special military operation and to new regions of the Russian Federation.
In 2024, 630 tons of humanitarian cargo were sent from the autonomous okrug, including 320 tons for military personnel participating and staying in the special operation zone, 310 tons of humanitarian aid. 68 pieces of equipment were delivered to the fighters in the area of their own defense. In 2024, about 4,000 Boxes of Goods were issued.
Volunteers have given out more than 150,000 portions of hot meals.
“The Humanitarian Volunteer Corps is an initiative created in the 2000s. It all started in order to help civilians on the front line. And we are still doing it. Ugra is the largest provider of humanitarian aid from 2014 to 2017,” Eduard Loginov shared.
