Radovan Kovacs’s series “Winter with the Khanty people” premiered at the Russian House in Belgrade: a unique look at the life of the Indigenous peoples of Siberia

During the visit of the delegation of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Ugra, a presentation of the film project by Serbian director Radovan Kovacs “Winter with the Khanty people” took place at the site of the Russian House in Belgrade (Republic of Serbia).

At the suggestion of the Government of the Autonomous Okrug, the crew of the Serbian PRVA TV channel worked in the region from February 21 to 26 to prepare materials for a film about the traditional way of life of the indigenous people of the North, the Khanty. Filming was carried out on the territory of the Povkhovsky deposit in the Surgut district at the camp of Lyudmila Sergeevna Korshunkova and at the camp of Anatoly Ruskin.

The guests got acquainted with the family of the indigenous peoples of the North, child care, rest in the Russian bath at the camp, morning hunting, and feeding the deer. Working together in difficult conditions took place with full mutual understanding and support both professionally and emotionally. The shooting was accompanied by humor and at the same time mutual interest and desire in creating high-quality and vivid content reflecting the amazing aspects of the life of the indigenous people of the North.

Since March 31, 2024, the full version of the series about the director’s life in the Siberian taiga has been broadcast on the First Channel of the Television of the Republic of Serbia. The total number of views on social networks is more than 3 million.
