Born on January 15, 1926 in the village. Sokolovo (now Yurginsky district of the Tyumen region). In the early 1930s. lived with his parents in the village of Urman (now the Khanty-Mansiysk district of the Tyumen region). After graduating from an incomplete high school, he worked on a collective farm. In 1944 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. Military rank: senior sergeant. Position: assistant commander of an automatic platoon. Combat path: as part of the 17th Guards Rifle Duhovschinsko-Khingan Red Banner Orders of Lenin and Suvorov Division of the 3rd Belorussian Front, participated in the battles for the capture of Konigsberg, fought in East Prussia. At the end of World War II, the division was transferred to the East, where it took part in the 39th Army of the Trans-Baikal Front in battles with militaristic Japan. After the liberation of Manchuria, the division was stationed in the area of the city of Jinzhou. In 1950 G.A. Raevsky was demobilized.
