On June 22, on the Day of Remembrance and Mourning, employees of the non-departmental security of the Rosgvardia Directorate for Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra put in order the burial places of the Great Patriotic War veterans in the cities of the region and honored with a minute of silence the memory of their compatriots who died. In Nizhnevartovsk and Raduzhny, representatives of the department, together with Victory Volunteers, cleared the graves of the defenders of the Fatherland from overgrown grass and branches. “The day of memory and sorrow was reflected in the pain and bitterness of loss in our hearts. The Great Patriotic War began 80 years ago, claiming the lives of millions of people. Today our mission is to preserve and pass on to future generations the memory of the heroic deed of the Russian people, who did not break under the onslaught of a cruel enemy, ”said Police Colonel Evgeny Simakov, head of the Rosgvardia Directorate for Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra. In Khanty-Mansiysk, Surgut, Kogalym, Pyt-Yakh and Beloyarsky, servicemen and officers of the Russian Guard joined the All-Russian minute of silence. It was held simultaneously in all regions of the country at 12:15 Moscow time. It was at this time exactly 80 years ago that an appeal of the Soviet government to citizens was broadcast, in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR Vyacheslav Molotov announced the beginning of the war.
