Compatriots from 12 countries of the world met with the Acting Governor of Ugra during the Youth Day

On June 29, 2024, Acting Governor of Ugra Ruslan Kuharuk met with participants of the cultural and educational program of Rossotrudnichestvo “Hello, Russia!”

In 2024, during the program “Hello Russia!” 50 compatriots from Turkey, Uganda, Tanzania, Israel, Kazakhstan, Serbia, France, Tajikistan, Belarus, Moldova, Bangladesh, Azerbaijan, and South Ossetia became guests of the Autonomous Okrug. A rich cultural program is organized for the guests: visits to museum sites, sightseeing tours, theatrical performances, participation in promotions, and master classes. In addition, the youth took part in the opening ceremony of the international competitions for the Cup of the Governor of Ugra in rowing on rowboats and worked on the creation of joint creative projects on the basis of the Ugra Media School.

“I am glad to see everyone here as a guest in Russia, in Ugra. The Hello Russia project allows people who are united by the most important thing, which is love of communication, openness to this world, to meet, talk about the place that is for you today the place of your life, work, study, get acquainted with those features and cultural values that are the most important for the cities that accept you the main thing,” Ruslan Kuharuk greeted the participants of the meeting.

Daniil Gavrienko from the Republic of Kazakhstan thanked the representatives of the Autonomous Okrug for the warm welcome. “There are many attractions in Khanty-Mansiysk, there is an oil and Gas Museum where you can touch the strata extracted from kilometer depths, interesting architecture, and kind, and talented people. To see all this is very significant for me. In Kazakhstan, I will tell as many people as possible about everything,” he said. The young man stressed that the organization of the trip by both Rossotrudnichestvo and Ugra took place at a high level. He called the “Hello Russia!” program itself a way to find out how friends from a neighboring country live, share their life experiences and accept other experiences, and see what opportunities young people have in Russia.

Elena Ivanov from Serbia admitted that she first heard about the autonomous region when the Ugra delegation arrived at the Russian House in Belgrade. The girl was impressed by the presentation of the region, and the emotions of fellow countrymen who returned from the Russian-Serbian media school, which also took place in Khanty-Mansiysk in June, finally convinced her that she needed to see this region with her own eyes. “You can talk for a very long time about the charms of both cultural and external, but my main association with Ugra is the smell of Russia, the smell of cedars, it’s something native,” she said.

Alexandra Vartik from Moldova is impressed by Ugra State University. The girl appreciated the possibilities of modern equipment in the classrooms, as well as the fact that young people in Ugra have opportunities to participate in the social, political, and economic life of the region and the country. The participant expressed a desire to consider admission to Ugra State University in the future.

The Acting Governor of the Autonomous Okrug supported the idea, recalling that students from all over the world study at Ugra universities. “Youth Day is a holiday that unites people who, regardless of age, are young at heart. This is the principle that everyone should go through life with. The most important value we have is human communication, independent of administrative and political boundaries. This is especially important now, when they are still trying to “cancel” Russia, devalue our achievements and values,” Ruslan Nikolaevich noted.

The acting head of the region also congratulated all participants of the meeting on Youth Day, which is celebrated today in Russia. “Youth Day is a holiday that unites people who, regardless of age, are young at heart. This is the principle that everyone should follow. The most important value we have is human communication, independent of administrative and political boundaries. This is especially important now, when they are still trying to “cancel” Russia, devalue our achievements and values,” Ruslan Nikolaevich noted.

The Hello Russia project has been implemented by Rossotrudnichestvo for young compatriots since 2014. Every year, more than 700 teenagers and young people aged 14 to 19 years, who are also winners of various competitions on the history and culture of Russia, come to our country to get acquainted with the modern life of the historical homeland, to practice the Russian language. The “Hello, Russia!” program is being implemented for the third time in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Ugra.
