Volkov Ivan Stepanovich

Born in 1925 in the village. Uvat (now the Tyumen region). In May 1943 he was mobilized into the ranks of the active army. From May to October 1943 I.S. Volkov was trained at the 2nd Leningrad Military Aviation Technical School. From October to November 1943, he made the first training flights on the Il-2 attack aircraft. He graduated from the school as a junior sergeant. He served in the Air Force on the Il-2 attack aircraft as an air gunner. Ivan Stepanovich made 100 combat missions as part of the crew. Combat route: Smolensk-Vitebsk, Second Ukrainian Front under the command of Marshal Malinovsky. Participated in the liberation of the cities of Kharkov, Kotovsk, Balti (Bessarabia), the countries of Romania, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Austria. I met the victory near Vienna. Demobilized in 1950.
