Korepanov Ekim Gavrilovich

Born September 22, 1898 in the village. Samarovo (now Khanty-Mansiysk). Secondary specialized education, in 1936 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk forestry school. From 1941 to 1943, he worked as director of the Lugovsk Timber Mill, where they made sleepers for the railway, plywood for aircraft, blanks for rifle boxes. In August 1943 he volunteered for the front, served as a signalman on the Baltic Front. Wounded twice. Awards: Order of the Red Star; medals “For Courage”, “For Military Merit”, “For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, “For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, “Veteran of Labor”. Demobilized in July 1945. He continued to work as an engineer for rafting and logging at the Khanty-Mansiysk timber industry enterprise. Retired since 1959. He died on March 8, 1981. He was buried in Tyumen.
