Coordinators of the Immortal Regiment gathered at a forum in Belgrade

The International Forum "Memory of the Winners" has started in Belgrade for organizers of the "Immortal Regiment" march in neighboring countries and beyond, representatives of organizations of compatriots and foreign citizens, NGOs, etc. In total, more than 100 people from more than 40 countries of the world take part in the event.
“As long as there are enthusiasts like you, attempts to rewrite history are doomed to failure,” Yevgeny Primakov, head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), said in a video message to the forum participants. “Today's forum will certainly become an excellent platform for the exchange of experience, which will be useful to each of you in preserving the historical truth and popularizing eternal values that do not depend on the time and country of your residence.”
“Dear friends, fellow soldiers, compatriots, you and I have taken upon ourselves a very serious and important mission - to preserve the memory of our veterans, the victors of Nazism, who are in our families, to help modern politicians not to forget what happened and not to repeat these mistakes. We must keep the peace! It was for this that the Immortal Regiment was created, "- Elena Tsunaeva, Co-Chair of the Central Headquarters of the Immortal Regiment of Russia, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, recalled at the opening of the forum.
“The immortal regiment is not a movement at the behest of chiefs and officials, but one that comes from the people -“ from below ”and from the heart. And therefore, it is probably the strongest in terms of preserving our memory, our traditions and the greatest values, ”said Alexander Botan-Kharchenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Serbia.
Also in the opening of the forum were the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Alexander Vulin and the director of the RCSC "Russian House" in Belgrade Yevgeny Baranov. They recalled the unity of the fate of Soviet and Serbian soldiers during the Second World War, the importance of studying and preserving history and the need to consolidate the forces of compatriots in order to prevent it from being rewritten.
During the two days of the forum, the participants will have a rich program - the organizers prepared lectures on history, thematic sessions on working with the media and in social networks, and, of course, a platform for the exchange of experience, where representatives of different countries will be able to talk about their own projects to preserve the memory of the heroes of the Second world war.
The forum is held by the Immortal Regiment of Russia with the support of the A.M. Gorchakov and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh). Rossotrudnichestvo is the partner of the event, according to the press service of polkrf.ru
