In the 1930s. the Medvedev family moved to Ostyako-Vogulsk. Anatoly continued his studies at the secondary school of Ostyako-Vogulsk (Khanty-Mansiysk), which he graduated in 1941. On July 20, 1941, at the age of 17, he volunteered for the front, graduated from the Tomsk Infantry School. He returned to Khanty-Mansiysk, where his young wife and parents were waiting for him. From December 1, 1946, he worked as the secretary of the Samarovskiy RK of the Komsomol, the Khanty-Mansiysk district committee of the Komsomol. In 1948, the young family had twins - a son Victor (later followed in the footsteps of his father 6, a photojournalist, journalist of the Kondinskaya regional newspaper), a daughter Lydia (therapist of the Kondinskaya hospital). Since September 1950 he worked as head. department of letters of the editorial office of the newspaper "Stalin's tribuna" (Khanty-Mansiysk).
