Istomin Ivan Vasilievich

Born on October 9, 1922 in the village. Saranpaul. In August 1941 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. Arriving in Omsk I.V. Istomin was enlisted in the airborne troops. Then he was sent to Moscow, where he took courses in the conduct of hostilities behind enemy lines. As part of the 34th Guards Rifle Division I.A. Istomin received his baptism of fire on the South-Eastern Front. Then he fought on the Stalingrad front. Demobilized on November 24, 1946. Awards: Order of the Dark Patriotic War, II degree "; medals "For Military Merit", "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945", eleven anniversary medals. In the post-war period, Ivan Vasilyevich worked as a teacher of military affairs and physical education at the Saranpaul school and for 39 years - in the consumer cooperatives of the Berezovsky regional fish industry consumer union. Ivan Vasilievich was an active participant in the veteran movement from the first days of its inception, chairman of the district council of war and labor deputies. He passed away on July 1, 2003, and was buried in the village of Berezovo.
