The President of Russia noted the importance of the Immortal Regiment action

On August 22, 2021, on the Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation, Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the solemn ceremony of raising the Russian flag in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill. At a later meeting at the Victory Museum with representatives of the All-Russian political party United Russia, Vladimir Putin noted the enormous importance of the Immortal Regiment action.
“This is not a regiment. This is just a name. This is a river. This is a human river. A river of memory, pride, gratitude to our ancestors for what they did for us. And hopes for a better future, ”the President stressed.
“Historical memory is important for any nation if it wants to survive and have a future. Historical memory is important not for those who no longer exist ... It is important for us and for our children, ”added Vladimir Putin.
