Ivanitsky Petr Georgievich

Born on January 13, 1914 in the village. Vagai (now the Vagai district of the Tyumen region), in a family of employees. He received his primary education, by profession - a blacksmith. Before the war (since 1938) he worked as a tour guide and acting director of the Khanty-Mansiysk Regional Museum of Local Lore. On July 31, 1941, the Khanty-Mansiysk OVK was mobilized into the Red Army. Military rank: guard lieutenant. Position: from February 1942 to June 1943 - Deputy. com. Companies. 1944 - tank commander, from December 1944 to May 1945 - technician-supervisor of military ranks. Combat path: in the army since February 1942. He fought on the Leningrad Front as part of the 749th Infantry Regiment of the 125th Infantry Division, on the 3rd Belorussian Front - as part of the 3rd Stalin Tank Corps and the 50th Training Tank shelf. He took part in the defense and breaking of the blockade of Leningrad, liberated Vitebsk, Bobruisk, Minsk, Western Belarus. He was wounded, twice shell-shocked. He ended the war in East Prussia. Awards: Order of the Red Star; medals "For the Defense of Leningrad", "For Victory over Germany during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", jubilee awards. After the war, he returned to Khanty-Mansiysk and was appointed director of the regional library, and then, before retiring, worked in a cooperative. He passed away in 1982 and was buried in the city of Khanty-Mansiysk at the Southern cemetery.
