Demobilized in 1947. In the postwar years V.V. Kondakov worked in educational institutions, Soviet bodies. He was repeatedly elected as a deputy of the city and district Soviets of Working People's Deputies. Awards: medals "For Courage", "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."
