During the war years he fought on the Leningrad, North-Western, 1st Belorussian fronts. He liberated Velikiye Luki, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, and reached Berlin. From 1975 to 1980 he was the director of the Zavodoukovsky city marketing department.
