Khanty-Mansiysk and Bela-Crkva became twin cities; A cooperation agreement has been signed

On June 14, 2024, a meeting of participants of the Russian-Serbian media school “Serbia & Ugra” took place in Khanty-Mansiysk. Media School” with the head of Khanty-Mansiysk Maxim Ryashin.

Bloggers, photographers, journalists, representatives of the Association for the Promotion and Development of Youth Tourism of the Republic of Serbia “Serbia for Youth” have outlined new prospects for cooperation. Following the meeting, a twinning agreement was signed, in which the parties undertake to encourage and develop cooperation in the fields of education, culture, sports, tourism and the economy, contributing to the development of twin cities. To encourage and develop cooperation between representatives of institutions, various organizations and local communities, to ensure the exchange of delegations at all levels, to achieve the implementation of projects of mutual interest to both cities.

“I would like to note that this year marks the 186th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Serbia. The city of Bela-Crkva is of special historical importance for our country, it is considered one of the most important cultural centers of Russian emigration. In March of this year, by order of the Government of the Russian Federation, the territory of the Russian Necropolis of the city of Bela-Crkva was included in the list of burial sites located abroad that have historical and memorial significance for our country,” the head of the city added.

The signing of the twinning agreement between Khanty-Mansiysk and Bela-Crkva is the result of the visit of the delegation of the Khanty–Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra to the Republic of Serbia in March 2024. Following the meeting with the head of the city of Bela-Crkva, a protocol of intent was signed in establishing cooperation between Khanty-Mansiysk and Bela-Crkva.
