During the war years, Kyrgyzstan sent more than 360 thousand people, or every fourth resident of the country, to the active army, and received a total of more than 300 thousand refugees. Over 30 thousand Kyrgyz citizens were sent to military industry enterprises outside the republic.
More than 150 thousand Kyrgyz soldiers were awarded orders and medals for courage and courage displayed on the fronts of the Second World War, of which 74 people were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, 21 soldiers were awarded the Order of Glory of three degrees.
