Born in the village of Saranpaul, Obsko-Irtysh region. Father - Nenets, mother - Mansi. From the age of 15, Pankov hunted and got furs. In the late 1920s, he studied in Moscow on courses that trained party and economic personnel for national regions. Among the best graduates he was admitted to the Institute of the Peoples of the North in Leningrad and graduated with honors. In the 30s, Pankov began to paint in an art workshop at the institute, mastered the technique of gouache and oil painting. Pictures of Pankov and his studio mates have been repeatedly published in magazines. They decorated the Far North Pavilion at the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition and the Soviet pavilion at the 1937 Paris Exhibition. Thousands of Parisians visiting the Soviet pavilion were deeply impressed by the art of the small nationalities of the Soviet North. As soon as the Great Patriotic World War began, Konstantin Pankov joined the Red Army and volunteered for the front, was a sniper and scout. He fought on the Volkhov front in 1942, was killed during the liberation of Norway. His works have been preserved in the Russian Museum, the Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic, in private collections and represent the North in the exhibition areas of Russian museums.
