Kuznetsov Pyotr Vasilievich

Born on August 8, 1924 in the village. Elan (now Nizhnetavdinsky district of the Tyumen region) in a family of peasants. Peter's childhood was spent in Tobolsk, his youth and the beginning of adulthood - in the Baikalovsky district of the Tyumen region. After graduating from the 7-year school, Peter began working as a rural cultural worker. At the age of 17, P.V. Kuznetsov volunteered for the front. He completed his initial military training in Tyumen, at a military infantry school. In April 1942, a railway train with cadets of military schools was sent to the Western Front. In the city of Kimry, the 88th cadet division was formed. In the first ten days of June, the division was transferred closer to the front lines, to the Pogorelov Gorodishche area, where the headquarters of the Western Front was located. The front at that time was commanded by G.K. Zhukov. Petr Vasilievich was lucky to see this legendary commander at a distance of 30 meters. Combat path: P.V. Kuznetsov was enrolled in a separate regimental company of submachine gunners - the squad leader. During a combat operation near Rzhev, Pyotr Vasilyevich was wounded: a machine gun fire struck him on the edge of an enemy trench, which was stormed by his squad. When he woke up, there was no one around, his comrades fought far ahead. Having several bullet wounds, he himself left the battlefield, crossed the river, the village and got to the line of our trenches, where he was picked up by the orderlies. At the end of January 1943, Pyotr Vasilyevich was recognized as fit for non-combatant service due to the consequences of his wounds. He served at a hospital in the city of Kamensk-Uralsky, Sverdlovsk region, and in July he was sent to study in a separate training brigade, which was located in Yalutorovsk. The brigade was eventually transformed into a division and in 1944 was redeployed to Ukraine in the city of Nikolaev, where Pyotr Vasilievich met the news of the Victory. A year later, he was demobilized and returned home. Awards: Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree, Order of Peter the Great, Order of the Great Victory; medals “For Courage”, “For Victory over Germany”, Georgy Zhukov's medal, anniversary medals, certificates of honor and commemorative sheets. In the post-war period P.V. Kuznetsov worked in executive positions in the Baikal region. Then for 11 years he headed the fishing artel named after Kirov, in the village of Peschaniy, Surgut region. He held the position of head of the Yuganskneft housing and communal office, was responsible for the trouble-free maintenance of housing. In the era of active development of the district, he worked in the oil-Yugansk drilling department No. 1. For over 40 years he has been engaged in social activities. From 2001 to this day, Petr Vasilyevich has been the head of the city Council of War, Labor and Armed Forces Veterans. On the day of his 90th birthday, Pyotr Vasilyevich was awarded the honorary title of a laureate of the Yugra Prize “For Outstanding Contribution to the Socio-Economic Development of the Okrug” for his achievements in work.
